The whale is an imprtant totem for many Aborigonal mobs, especially along the coast where whales can be seen. There are also stories of whales in  'The Dreamtime.'

The whale is the totem of the Darkinjung People of the Central Coast of NSW.

Whales are featured in Colin's art as he is a member of the Dharawal mob, and lived on the coast before moving to Inverell. Some of the oldest Aboriginal rock art features whales!
